We came to the mountains (me, my husband, 2 daughters, and their boyfriends) and had an amazing experience in a wonderful cabin. One daughter and boyfriend trekked down to the river and went kayaking. We all went to Claytor Lake State Park to swim and go tubing with a friend. The boys went night fishing on the friend’s boat. We played cribbage and Yahtzee and watched movies! My favorite place is the rocking chair on the front porch especially very early in the morning and at dusk. So peaceful! We will be back! It was such a great visit. We really loved this cabin. The kitchen just begs to be cooked in with all the fancy utensils and counterspace. We rode up toward Pulaski and did 12 miles at dusk. Then the next day we did 40 miles. We saw many neat things. We saw 3 deer, 1 inquisitive mule, a white bunny, 2 brown horses with 2 black cows. We saw many carp from the bridges, ducks, a heron, two yellow birds, and many friendly bikers. Thanks so much for making all this possible and all your help. We can’t wait to come back again. C & S

We would like to thank you for such a nice home for us to stay in. We have enjoyed the trails and river. Everyone we met was so nice—it reminded us of home. We went biking on the trail. First, was from Foster Falls to here. Second was from here to Draper and back again. Third time we rode into Pulaski to eat pizza and back. Then we went kayaking from Foster Falls to the boat landing just below the house. Second we went above the Falls about 4 miles and floated down to the Falls—it was a lot of fun. We hope everyone has as much fun as we have had!! As for the house it was home away from home. We all felt very welcomed. Than you so much!! R, P, A, S, K, D, & S
The Trailview is a wonderful vacation get-a-way!! Recharging, Refreshing, Relaxing are the words that come to mind as we recap our week here. We had a great vacation! We rode the New River Trail and the Creeper Trail and just enjoyed the beautiful Virginia countryside. The cabin was perfect!! We plan to visit again in the fall when the leaves are changing. D

Had a wonderful time staying here. Our 4 year old had plenty of room to plaly. Looking over the river from the porch was relaxing. Our dogs had a great time outside when not in cages at night. During day went sightseeing. We walked our dogs and 4 year old evenings along the river. In the future we would like to come back someday. We will tell our friends about your place. L, L, & B
We had a wonderful time! Mostly we stayed in the cabin and enjoyed movies. Baby it’s cold outside! Thanks to mom’s cooking we had a meal around the kitchen table three times each day. In our last night we ate enough homemade fudge and popcorn to make us all sick. But, it was great! Thank you for this wonderful cabin we were able to enjoy! D, R, T, B, J, & M

What a wonderful place you have! Thank you so much for sharing it with us. We went to the VA Tech vs Boston College game and were so disappointed to see Tech lose everything in the last two minutes of the game, but our spirits were lifted when we arrived here. We were soaked to the bone so the fireplace was wonderful! It only took about 10 minutes before we were all dry and warm. The next morning we slept until 11:00 am. It is so quiet here! We haven’t slept that long in a long time. We finally got our act together and went to dinner at the Pine Tavern Restaurant in Floyd. We didn’t get to fish because of the rain so we’ll have to come back another time! Thank you for everything. We loved it here! J, D, J,A, C,& M T

Paige and Tom, thank you so much once again for a wonderful experience at your cottages. Our first visit was at The Cottage and The Trailview has been equally spectacular. Our son is a freshman cadet at VT and your cottages have truly been a blessing for the family to relax and unwind together. It is difficult to have the family separated after 17 years, but your homes have made it much more pleasant. Walking by the river, experiencing the deer and other nature and simply watching TV together is a real gift. The C Family

Paige and Tom—Our stay here was absolutely wonderful! The New River Trail was awesome. It was so wonderful to get away from the stress of everyday life and bond with nature. It is so peaceful here and the people are great. We met a few folks on our walk and bike trips down the trail. We even saw a couple of deer the first night we were here! We had a great time! This is by far the nicest cabin we have ever stayed. The kitchen ware is amazing. We caught some nice fish and threw them all back. Hopefully we can be back next year to catch them again! M, M, I, & J

We had a wonderful and relaxing time here! The cabin is beautiful and causes you to feel right at home. Everything you could possibly need is provided. The scenery is great and the pines out front are so fragrant! It was so nice to have such a huge front porch to relax on as the breeze blew by. The entire cabin is totally comfortable! What a wonderful retreat. The cabin was immaculate and we both enjoyed being here very much. I myself would get up in the morning and make a cup of tea and sit on the porch listening to all al God’s incredible sounds of nature. The kitchen was so well equipped. We have never stayed in a place so elegant and clean. The natural beauty of its surroundings was peaceful, and serene. Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely cabin. The cabin was perfect; it was well furnished and very comfortable. Our son and daughter-in-law joined us for the weekend. We rode the New River Bike trail and used the grill for two meals…then we spent time on the front porch …just enjoying talking. Thanks so much for making our visit to southwest Virginia a memorable one. The cabin allowed us to “slow down” for a few days and leave the fast-paced world behind. B& C S

We have had a wonderful relaxing week in this cozy retreat. It has really felt like home. We have rented many vacation homes at the beach and none of them compare to the way you have furnished and equipped your home…you have thought of everything! We really enjoyed bike riding the trail. We manage to ride on almost all areas of it and rode approximately 75 miles total. Your caretakers do a great job and it was a pleasure working with you via email to rent the cabin. What a great visit! I went to the bike trail and rode 26 miles on Sunday and ten more on Monday. I did it all with my mom. Since I’m only ten years old now I hope to come back when I’m older. I also rode with dad too. PS. The cabin was awesome!
A beautiful spot here on the river and a very cozy comfortable cabin. What a nice place to return to after a chilly day on the trail riding bikes. We loved the porch, sitting out watching the river, admiring the leaves, etc….We would love to return in the future. G G. L., B.J. and T

Thank you for letting us stay in your home. My mother and father-in-law brought my husband and me here to celebrate our birthdays. It was very peaceful and relaxing. Our 2 dogs along with us enjoyed the change of scenery and the bike trail. We took our dogs walking down the trail and saw some deer, horses, geese, ducks, and a groundhog. I had never been to the Virginia mountains before, but plan to come again soon. The C’s
We have had the most wonderful time here. Love the cabin—it’s so homey and comfortable. The scenery in this area is just beautiful, so relaxing. We enjoyed mountain music at The Rex in Galax and a Civil War reenactment at Ararat. So much to see and do! The E’s
Such a delightful time we have had these few days! All too soon it is time to leave! Relaxing atmosphere, birds’ songs during the day, insect sounds at night. And the accommodations! They were just marvelous!! A rustic appeal with all the modern conveniences. I think we spent the 1 st few hrs and throughout the few days we were here just oohing and aahhing over the comforts of home so generously spread around the cabin. A great get-a-away from life’s stress and pressure. We leave refreshed and thankful! PS. We celebrated a birthday and a wedding anniversary. Thanks a million!! The P’s

Thank you so much for letting us stay here! It was a great place, and we thoroughly enjoyed the surrounding area! The bike trail was beautiful, and we rode 20 miles during our stay. We also had tons of fun kayaking on the New River. The river made the Tuckaseegee River back home look like a creek, it was so BIG! We went up to Floyd for the Bluegrass Jamboree which was exceptional! I’d give this lovely vacation spot a 10 out of 10, and we are definitely planning on coming back! This place is awesome! We went tubing on the New River, ventured out to Cascade Falls, and played across the street in the river. We’ve very much enjoyed our stay here—it began to feel like home after just a couple of days. Our group is 3 kids, their mom and grandparents (Dad had to work). We went swimming at Claytor Lake Park and the water park in Dublin as well as doing some biking and walking on the trail. We enjoyed seeing all the wildlife and love the mountain view. The cabin is wonderful and we home to return someday! L. C.
We had a truly enjoyable stay here. We had 3 cabins housing 30 family members (15 children). This was home base and the kitchen was wonderful for cooking and the extended counters for buffet style food lines were great! We are leaving maps and areas of interest for future visitors and we highly recommend Foster Falls State Park as a day trip. Thank you for having such a well stocked cabin with all one would need. Having been in the lodging/hospitality business for over ten years, I know firsthand what work it takes to make a house a “home.” Your work has made this “cabin” into a work of art. Bright, cheery, well-stocked and most especially clean, no, immaculate! Had a great stay! Biked the trail both ways, hiked at Mt. Rogers-wild ponies were amazing! Enjoyed the peaceful evenings and mornings on the back deck. We are celebrating our 8 th anniversary and left our 5 year old daughter and 3 yr old son at home in Charlotte and Grandma! We all enjoyed 2 wonderful days and nights here—everything was so nice, well organized and equipped. On Saturday May 6th we attended graduation at Radford University. Our daughter graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry and with a minor in Biology and math. We are so proud of her and wish her the best in the future as she goes to VCU Pharmacy School in Richmond in the fall. I cannot tell you what an absolute pleasure it was to spend a week here! It is the first vacation in a long time that I really wasn’t ready to go home. The accommodations were terrific and everything was so comfy. The week zoomed by…we enjoyed all of the simple pleasures this area has to offer…daily biking, exploring the river, canoeing and kayaking. We even went into Pulaski to bowl on 2 occasions with the kids. I hope to make this an annual vacation. The B’s
